Studies on Travels, Tourists and Development.
Travelling and Tourism ought to be critically analysed, even more since it became one of the biggest industries in the world, linking countries and societies across long distances and cultural boundaries. These tendencies include tourism unto – and within – countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Nothern costumes of travelling and sightseeing are taken over by middle and upper class people of the developing societies; development strategies and projects often are based on concepts to develop and exploit tourism. Cultural tradition, religious rites, ecological resources, dances and ceremonies among others, undergo significant changes in order to serve as touristic attraction and services. Does this mean destruction of cultural tradition, or more strength and capacity to survive for more people?
